SUMMARY:Screen on the Green: Singin' in the Rain (1952)
DESCRIPTION:Screen on the Green is back for another year in Goodale Park!  \nPresented on a great\, big\, inflatable screen with high-quality sound\, the movies are accompanied by pre-movie short films and a variety of delicious mobile food options plus homemade desserts from the Hubbard Mastery School’s PopUp BakeShop. As a new treat this year\, series supporter Grandview Theater & Drafthouse will be selling popcorn before each show.  \nThe late\, great Debbie Reynolds teams with Gene Kelly and Donald O’Connor for one of the most joyous musicals of all time. Kelly plays a silent screen star that falls for Reynolds’ aspiring actress while struggling with the coming of sound and a co-star with a mean streak (Jean Hagen in a brilliant\, Oscar-nominated performance). \nThe screening starts at sunset (@8:15 p.m.) and food is available at least one hour before showtime. Food vendors include: Ajumama\, Sunnyside Tacos\, Hubbard Mastery School PTO PopUp BakeShop\, and J-Pops gourmet ice pops. \nComing up: Pee-wee’s Big Adventure (1985) on Friday\, September 15. \nScreen on the Green is presented by the Short North Civic Association\, with additional support from Comfest\, Grandview Theater & Drafthouse\, and the Short North Foundation.

DESCRIPTION:YOU’RE INVITED TO NATIONAL NIGHT OUT 2017! \nCome hang out with neighbors\, enjoy free food and drink\, and learn how to make our community a safer place! This year’s national night out event will feature delicious sandwiches and sides from Challah food truck (of 7th Son fame)\, yummy and refreshing J-Pops\, a bicycle safety presentation by our friends from YayBikes\, water balloons\, and an opportunity to meet some of the amazing Columbus police officers who keep our neighborhood safe! \nIf we are lucky\, the CPD will also be introducing us to some of their police horses and/or will be showing us their bikes and police cars! \nEvent Details \nWhen: Tuesday August 1\, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 PM \nWhere: Goodale Shelter House (outside/inside if the weather is good\, inside if there is rain) \nAdditional info:\n– Restrooms will be available to all neighbors.\n– Parking is available near the shelter house but it is limited. We strongly encourage neighbors to walk to the event if possible.\n– Soda\, water\, sandwiches\, sides\, and popsicles will all be provided free of charge but supplies are limited so make sure to get here at the beginning of the event!\n– Neighbors will have access to air conditioning if they need a little break from the heat.\n-The shelter house has easy access to the playground at Goodale park. Glow sticks\, water balloons and outdoor games will also be available! \nCo-hosted by the Short North Block Watch\, the Short North Civic Association\, The Harrison West Society and the Italian Village Society. \nThis event is possible thanks to a very generous Columbus Neighborhood and Community Grant from the City of Columbus Department of Neighborhoods.
