Two penthouse units combined to make a dream home designed for entertaining.
Owner: Malcolm Riggle
845 North High Street, Unit 502
After 40 years in the Columbus suburbs, Malcolm decided to try urban condo living. He downsized from a 4000-sq. ft. home (plus attic storage, a basement and an attached garage) to a 3,100-sq. ft. condo and says he has loved every minute of it.
Malcolm purchased the condo in 2006, and spent the next year and a half customizing it to its current look. He hired Berardi Architects to create blueprints, Rob McLean to handle the kitchen design, Rob White of Whitespace to manage the balance of the condo and Ruscilli Construction to execute the plans. Malcolm aimed for a luxury home with elegant finishes that would still feel comfortable enough to relax. The unit features a large gourmet kitchen, storage, three bedrooms, three full baths, a living room, dining area, a media room/third bedroom, four fireplaces, and a large master bath including a steam room and luxurious shower room with sunken jetted tub and walk-in closet. Unique floorings, millwork, appliances, and lighting complement the space.
Outside you will find an 80-ft. long, nearly 600 sq. ft., north facing patio/terrace, accessed from the dining room and master suite. The condo’s many attributes add up to what Malcolm calls a “confluence of luxury, executive, and metropolitan living,” and a stroll in any direction will lead you to anything from restaurants, nightclubs, coffee shops to art galleries and retail.
Malcolm says everything he enjoys is just steps from his front door in the Short North. So much so, that he shipped his car to his vacation home in Palm Springs, Ca. and relies solely on Car-2-Go, Uber and his boots that were made for walkin’.
